Visa Application

Been in contact with friends in Bangkok and they have suggested I sort out a multiple entry visa in adavnce of travelling.

Been through the relevant embassy websites and thought i'd share here as a shorter link:

Pretty basic questions but you'll need your passport to hand and 2 passport photos before applying. I plan on just visiting the embassy once I have all documents sorted and talking trhough which visa is appropriate. Multiple entry Tourist Visa or Non-Immigrant Visa.

  1. Feedback from the Thai Embassy:

    Dear Sir/Madam,

Please understand if you going to Thailand for a tourist you can apply tourist visa but if you going to Thailand for training Muay Thai you need Non-immigrant B visa and you need an acceptant letter from that company and a company registration you will get 90 days only.

    Kind Regards,

    Visa Officer

    Anyone got any advice?

Should I just get into the country on a multiple entry tourist visa ot do as they say and pay more for a Non-Immigrant Visa?

  2. Having spoken with friends in Bangkok (Thanks Ryo) and Melissa Ray (http://muaythaionthebrain.com/) I am going to apply for a Non-Immigrant visa as described above. I have been in touch with the Charn Chai Muay Thai who are going to send through the relevant paperwork. I'll then approach the Thai Embassy here and jump through the hoops. I've done the paperwork and taken the photos, now to pay the fee and cross my fingers. Supposedly they dont always give out this visa. Master Toddy's in Bangkok seems to have a monopoly on being 'the' registered Muay Thai gym for travelling and studying. Worst case, they dont approve, i'll go on the tourist visa and try again locally. I just want to avoid having to apply for an educaton visa and having to spend 2 days a week learning Thai. Its money and time i dont want to spend.
